The Treaty of Ghent is the treaty that ended the war of 1812. This image was made to show that men of all kind can find peace within each other. He tries to direct this image toward the other countries that are in war at the time, that is what I think anyways. I know that because In the picture you can see that they are shaking hand which signifies peace with one another and he painted this to show that other countries can also find peace just like America and Great Britain.
In this photo, I think that this can show one of the ways of becoming an American. I think that becoming an American is to find peace with other people besides the ones who are different in skin color and in ethnicity
Sir Amedee Forestier was born in France in 1854, he painted this image in 1914. In 1882 he was working for the Illistrated London news producing news items and fictional stories. Forestier became known for his historical illustrations, especially his carefully researched drawings of archaeological finds such as prehistoric man. He also worked for a museum drawing life in Roman times. He was a great artist and had many jobs in the prosses but I think he is proud of this image the most because it sybolizes the peace that Great Britain and America share with each other and to also show how we ourselves can also find peace with one another if we tried.
